ABOUT UNITED WAY
History
In 1943, the Appeal for Alabama War Fund and Madison County Social Services were combined to create the Community Chest. They raised $64,068. In 1971 the Community Chest became the United Way of Madison County. Throughout its history, United Way of Madison County has allocated more than $77 million to United Way partner agencies and programs in our community.
Mission
United Way of Madison County is to be a leader in the community, uniting volunteers and resources to solve community problems and address health and human services needs through the programs of our partner agencies.
