My holiday wish is for me and my four children. There are ages 2,5,15 and 17. I’m a single mom working part-time. I have been looking for a full-time job for seven months. No luck. My husband has been incarcerated for 7 months and will be gone for a long time. I am doing the best I can, taking care of four children and trying to pay all the bills. I’m going threw alot of emotional stress, counseling for me and my children. My life has totally change being a single mom. My wish for myself is that I get help on my mortgage which is $900.00 per month. Because of my hardship I have put my house up for sale. I don’t want a forclosure because it will make my credit bad. So I have to pay monthly mortgage until it is sold. I wish for my 17 and 15 year old kids to get a laptop for school. My two year old girl is in need of pull-ups and wipes, and learning toys. My five year old son is in need of school uniforms, and wants learning toys. If my house does not sale by February, my four children and I may have to move in with my mother. She does foster care, so she doesn’t have a lot of space, but she has a big heart. Everything is possible with God. Thank you.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make a request for a Christmas wish. Due to drugs, alcohol, and just plain selfishness my husband decided to abandon his family. I am 9 months pregnant with 3 other children ages 16, 7, and 2. Due to a high risk pregnancy and a diabetes diagnosis I have been unemployed since March. My husband is on disability, but his check is what paid the bills in our house hold. My rent is $750.00 a month and that is what I am requesting today. My landlord is doing all he possibly can do to work with me. I have received all the charity I can possibly get from local agencies and churches. Soon my kids and I will be declared homeless. You have shown me such generosity over the years and a tremendous expression of love, not to mention the smiles you have put on many faces. We had to move from my old apartment due to the fact that the ceiling was leaking really bad. My bed and furniture all got destroyed. Right now my son and I are sleeping on an air bed. We have no furniture. My son is such a sweet little boy. He is wishing that Santa brings him some toys. Dear Wish List Im writing this letter hoping that someone would find it in there heart to bless me and my family. I am a 38 single parent with two of my own kids 14, 2 and custody of my 13 year old nephew. Due to some family issues on August 23, 2011 two of my great nieces and nephew 9 months, 22, and 4 years old had to be placed in my home. Due to the increase to my family it has been a strecth on me and my income leaving me with no budget for Christmas. I really wanted to do something special for the kids seeming that they all have had a shift in there lives this year. Well that time of the year is comming up again. Same worries & same problems with my brother-in-law. The kids are in school the little girl is an A-B honor roll student the boy just turned 18. The father and mother are still on drugs & drinking. They are about as much help as a broken leg. It breaks my heart to watch these children go through this. I came up with a father that was drunk but I had a wonderful mom and grandparents. I’m trying to make there life as good as I can. I know you get alot of letters from a lot of people asking for alot of help and I wish them well. If I could get some help with my rent and light bill I could by a nice dinner for the kids for Christmas. United Way, I am a single mother with 2 small children. One in Elementary school and one in headstart. I’m a struggling mother with no job. I am in school to become a nurse. I have no income, and my bills are getting behind. I would like for my kids to have a nice Christmas being that this is the first year that I haven’t been able to provide for them. I have been searching high and low for a job but nothing has come through yet. It’s really hard! My kids would like a computer/laptop so they can do their school projects and reading activities. They like books and learning games. My boys play sports so they like basketballs and footballs. One of my kids is sleeping in a worn down bed. He really need a bed w/ mattress and box springs. I am married with one minor child age 15. I don’t ask for help but this year has been really really rough for our family.  My husband has cancer and has had it for 4 years. It started as colon rectal moved to his liver then went to his lungs and then to his brain. So by the time we pay bills buy medication try to buy food and gas for 3 or 4 Doctor apointments a week our finances are depleted. We are both disabled we only make 2300 a month so anything extra is out of the question. If at all possible if you could help us pay bills to free up a stressful situation it would be so appreciated. I cant even afford gifts for our daughter even though she is 15 and will be 16 soon, she also has an amazing amount of stress knowing her father is deathly ill. We are in great need of a laptop computer for my children to be able to access school work/school news, and due to the face that when I lost my job last year due to caring for my special needs so, I am now more flexibally employed at my home. The laptop computer is needed for us to access academic programs, and getting to the library to use their computers is not an option for me after work in the late evenings. Due to my low income at this point, I have not been able to save enough to purchase a computer for the last two years. Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi, I am a 35 year old single mom who loves to help people, and is concerned about others needs, it comes a time in your life when you need help. I’ve always gave what I had to not see anyone else and there family suffer. I have 3 children 6,14,16, they are my life. I would do anything to make them happy. I suffer from bipolar, depression, anxiety, and asthma. I have been called crazy, you need help, that hurts because I did not know something or this would happen to me. I am a CNA, I have help the elderly for years. Sometimes My two girls do not have laptop to do assignments or projects. I want to give my kids the life that other kids have but sometimes I can not even get medicine or pay for my appointments just to get better. Months ago some one broke in my home and they stole my flat screen in the family room, it was a hurting thing when you work hard for things are taken away from you for no reason. I am saying all of this to say my wish is to please make this Christmas a very special and happy one for me and my children, and pray my life and my condition gets better.

I am a 71 years old widow, with a lot of health problems on a lot of medication. My back hurts me a lot. I’m going to have to have surgery on my back. I also have arthritus in my neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and legs. I would like to have a good night sleep. My wish for Christmas is a new mattress set. The one I have is so old and wore out it hurts my back to try to sleep.

I am also in need of a top denture. The one I have is over 20 yrs. Old. It don’t fit good. Its wore so thin, and parts are broken off. Any help you can give me with, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve never had a computer and need one despartely now, to assist and keep up with my young, hearing impaired adopted daughter, who is falling a little behind her classmaters without the resource of a computer at home. It would make enormous contribution to my young daughter’s education and social life. I’ve suffered much heart ache and personal tragdedy with the loss of two husbands, my home burned down, and my young grandson was shot and killed in 2010 in Madison, AL. I’m on disability so my income is very limited. Blessing me with the opportunity of receiving a computer would not only benefit and improve my daughter’s most precious learning years, but would allow me to electronically communicate with the Social Security Administration, Food Stamp offices, and the Medicare office. Lastly this computer complete with a possible video camera, would be a historical way to preserve my you  four year old daughter’s memories of her with me as my earthly time with her comes to closures. I am a single mother of three children, all boys. Reading through the Sunday paper I notice the add and decided to write a letter requesting the needs of my family. Like all other familys in need but what set me aside from all the rest is the opportunity to set pride aside and ask for help and not let my children go lacking because of my pride and ashame. My boys and I move here with nothing. I didn’t know what to do, several times I just wanted to leave them at the hospital and go because I felt that I was worthless, not able to provide for them and when holidays come around I will really feel more vulnable to doing this. Last Christmas we didn’t have a X’mas we was staying in the Salvation Army. We was there until August 2011 until I got a job. I am working only 2 days a week and is hard making ends meet with my rent and utilities bills but with God’s grace and mercy renewed everyday helps me know that I can and is able to take care of my kids and be the mother I need to be. Please can someone help me give my kids a smile on their face and let them know that its okay to ask Santa for a few things. My 14 and 13 year old would like a laptop to help with their school work and my 4 year old would like some hot wheel cars and books so his brothers and I can read to him.

I am a homeless widow living at the Salvation Army Shelter. I have been living there since January 2011. Before I moved to the shelter I lived at the Downtown Rescue Mission. My husband died on April 1, 1998. I lived in a trailer in Gurley and worked. I was so depressed over his death that I drank and did drugs. Eventually I moved to an apartment complex. Because of my addictions I had no money to pay the rent and was evicted. I was taken to court and the judge told me to pay the money that I owe to the Apts. After that is when I began living homeless and in shelters. As of today I no longer abuse alcohol or use drugs and have been clean for 2 years and 10 months. I am taking GED classes hoping that I can get my GED and find work. I am willing to work any hours of the day but cannot find work without my GED and some form of transportation to get to work. I was informed about your Wish program by my Social Worker at Mental Health. I am so tired of being homeless  but before I can get into housing I have got to paid the apartment complex off and the bill is $340. 96 if you could please help. At this time, on my behalf, all I am asking is that you consider paying the apartment complex the money that I owe. Thank you for your kind consideration.

I’m a single 36 year old mother. Who has three children one in high school and other two in middle school.  I’ve had 5 surgeries and see a doctor on a regular basis.  I’m on disability and get a check once a month and that’s not much, by the time I pay all my bills I don’t have anything left.  I don’t have any money to get my kids anything.  My kids have outgrown all their clothes, shoes & coats.  They would like a labtop w/printer so that they can do their school projects.  The kids need some twin mattresses.  My daughter needs another twin bed & dresser the one she has is broke.  My utility bill has been being half of my check every month.  I struggle every month with my bill.  I would like some assistance with my utility bill and also a gas card to help me get to and from my doctors appt. b/c sometimes I have to cancel some of my doctor’s appt. due to gas money.  My kids play basketball for the school.  They would like to practice outside of the school but they don’t have a basketball goal to practice on.  My younger son was asking for a bike w/pegs  His bike he had was broken  I’ve been unable to buy him one.

I was diagnosed with an illness that I thought would literally end my life right then and there. I mean for 2 years I had no job, no where to live, living from house to house because no one wanted me around because of my illness, so I drank every day, stressing out, just tearing my temple down, but GOD came through in 2008. I found a job that last 3 years. I am thankful for that 2 yr trial because it changed me and made me a better person. I even went and enrolled myself in Virginia College as a Medical Assistant that I completed in July 2011. I had given up on getting pregnant due to my illness and close to the end of school I found out I was pregnant. He is a 7 month old healthy boy and I love him to death! The man that I was taking care of died in July so that left me jobless. If I get chose for this Holiday Wish, would help catch up my bills and my baby can have a wonderful Christmas. Desperate times calls for desperate measures and this is one time that I need some help and to be pulled out of this rump; so if its possible please see that I’m sincere, and love my son and want the best for him. Dear: To Whom It May Concern! My wish isn’t for material things, my wish is that my grandson is able to become a regular part of my life, and Id like to give him a presant for Christmas! Ive been praying for 2 years that God will open that for us. I raised my grandson  from day one untill he turned 2, and then my daughter came and took him away, and I havent seen him since. My daughter and me dont see eye-to eye on most things, but I am still want to be a part of my grandsons life. Even if he doesnt remember me since he was so young when she took him away. Im praying for a (SECOND CHANCE) with my little grandson. I know this is a big one, a big wish I mean, and my faith tells me that only God can fix it. I am a disabled man on dialysis with congestive heart failure, diabetes, COPD and Hepetitus C. I have just been approved for disability but have not got any money yet! I am homeless but I am going to buy a used camper to live in when I get a check coming in. I need help with towels, pots and pans, dishes and bedding. Any help will be appreciated.

I am writing this letter asking for your help this holiday season. I am a single mother of  (4) whose sole prayer is that ALL my children would grow, and prosper, and be a productive member of society. One of my greatest obstacles has been obtaining useage of a computer for my children to be able to complete homework assignments, use study tools found on-line, reports or papers that have to be done. To whom it may concern, To be honest I’ve never been in a situation like this before. I try to do what is write and good but it doesn’t seem to be good enough. I worked my whole life and now I’m unemployed. For some reason I can’t find work and I don’t know why. I have spent the last year taking care of my disabled mother so I have no source of income except $190.00 in welfare. I have no help with caring for my mom so I really have no options anymore. The reason for this letter is to ask for help. I have a 14 year old daughter and I would love for her to have a Christmas this year. It’s very hard for her now because of my lack of income and the fact that we have to live in a house with 8 other people. I want to do for her myself but I can’t. I am a single parent of 2 children one boy age 14 and 1 girl age 12. I am a full time college student and my school money just didn’t go as far as it should have. Because I had 2 unexpected bills come up last month that came to nearly $3,000 and I went through a divorce this past year. And since he filed in Wisconsin, so I had to have a lawyer with a Wisconsin State License and that was costly so I’m asking for Rent Money $630.00 for December and January and Electric for both of those months and Gas Cards for my car for school. I am a single mother with 3 children. I have a 12 year old, 7 year old, and 6 year old. They need a labtop to do their school work and a printer to print off their project reports. I am working, but my income is only enough to pay my bills every month. I barely have enough gas money to get back and forth to work and to take them to the tutoring school. I got sick back in June and July so I didn’t have any income coming in at that time so it put me behind on my bills. I am still trying to catch up on them. My kids are doing really good in school so I’d like to get them something special.
